Brand
For when the question is who you are.
A film about who your brand is beyond just a product (or products). Your perspective, your mission, your attitude. The whys and the hows behind the what. This isn't selling, it's aligning with your customers, and transforming them to followers, fans, and hopefully evangelists.
This can take many forms, and creativity is encouraged. Mercurius wanted a cinematic sci-fi trailer to establish a time-travelling brand narrative for a modular luxury everyday carry bag, while Five F*cks for Tilt Five turned a founder's story into a rallying cry.
Browse all brand campaigns to discover what shape yours could take.
Depends. Do people need to trust you before they buy? If so, then yes! A brand video is often the first time a stranger hears your voice, and a small team with a clear point of view and a strong mission always stands out against bigger, blander competitors.
The great news for startups? It does not have to be big. Several of our brand films were a single day with a small crew, like Five F*cks (a crew of two). Start with Plan to find the story, then scale the shoot to your budget in the pricing calculator.
Brand voice is the character of your brand. How you sound, how you feel: the words you pick, how serious or playful you are, what you will and will not say. In video it shows in the script, the casting, the lighting, the pacing and even the music.
Our goal is always finding a voice and messaging only you and your brand can own. If you copy and messaging can be copypasta'd onto a competitor's site, or their to yours, and nobody would tell the difference, you're not standing out (and neither are they!).
Getting it right early saves money later, because every decision on the shoot can be checked against it. Finding your voice is part of Plan, along with positioning and messaging. For voices with attitude, see Tilt Five, Woof or Lens Lizard .
Positioning is the one clear idea you want people to hold about you, and how you are different from the alternatives. If you can say it in a sentence, a video can show it in a minute.
We want your audience to have an immediate reaction to your brand and product: a clear sense of your offering, how you're different from your competitors, and the feeling that you see their world the same way they do.
It is the starting point of Plan: we listen, research your market and customers, and bring back concepts to workshop with you before any script is written. tell us about your project and we will start with your story, or read how Plan works.
We'll answer that with a question of our own... who is the hero?
A product video shows what a thing does and why you need it. A brand video shows who is behind it and what they believe and often reflects your audiences back to themselves. Product videos age with the product; brand films carry the voice from one launch to the next.
Many companies need both, in that order. Lumen's Kickstarter launch was a hosted product film built on the "human" idea in their brand guide, and the later Lumen brand refresh threaded three of their use cases into one brand anthem over a two-day shoot.
How much do you got?! Seriously though, knowing the budget you're expecting to work with helps us scope to your needs and create with you.
If you're asking to scope with us, it really depends on how much strategy, shooting and editing the story needs. Plan starts at $3,000+, Produce at $6,000+ and Post at $3,000+, and you can combine them as the project needs.
Scale is the biggest driver. A one-day, small-crew film is a very different project from a two-day shoot with a larger cast, like the Lumen brand refresh, which took a crew of nine and six on camera. Price your own in the pricing calculator.
A hero film of about one to two minutes is the usual sweet spot, with shorter cutdowns for social and ads. Long enough to say something, short enough to be shared and leaving people wanting to know more. (That's when they explore your site).
We make the cutdowns during Post so one shoot feeds the whole campaign. The Woof OTT campaign is the extreme case: three dogs in six comedy spots over three days, with 25 deliverables in all. See what Post includes under services.
Yes. Our Plan phase covers branding, voice, positioning and narrative before any camera comes out, so the film has something real to say.
That work is also what makes the rest of the project cheaper to get right. When the voice is settled, scripting, casting and the edit all point the same way. Start with Plan or tell us about your project.
Yes. Our Post phase works with your footage or ours, so a refresh can be as light as a new edit and as big as a new shoot.
We have refreshed brands before. The Lumen brand refresh brought a new anthem video and a series of social cuts, and the Keyboardio asset refresh put fresh images and video loops for each product on a site that was overdue, in a day and a half. For refreshes on a schedule, look at Partner.
Yes. A campaign is a family of videos, stills and cutdowns that share one idea, shot together so everything matches.
Catan x Tilt 5 was a web commercial teaser that blended a drone shot on a pastoral homestead in Mendocino County with a jib shot in a luxurious loft. That shoot became a series of social assets, photos, gifs, and ads. Woof and Wearable X ran as campaigns too. Browse brand campaigns or tell us about your project.
A film that lets the person behind the company tell why they built it. It builds trust faster than almost any ad because it puts a face and a reason behind the product. These often demonstrate a strong founder market fit, because the founder's experience is so directly tied to the market their product is entering.
Inku is a good example. Its founder designed it to combat his own ADHD but had no studies to back it up (and had to be careful about scientific claims), so we created a character called Lizard Brain, a well-meaning trickster, to help tell the story. Also watch Keyboardio and Lens Lizard, or browse founder stories.
We love to. Humor is one of the quickest ways to be remembered, and it works best when it grows out of the product.
A flock of chickens cycling down a city street with a camera rickshaw alongside sold Nine Arches. A dog, a sandwich and a great deal of patience carried Woof. A comedic narrative for cold brew fans basically wrote itself for Brezi. Tone is set in Plan, so tell us how far you want to go and tell us about your project.
Product
Getting a product on camera so people want it.
The film that introduces a new product to the world: what it is, who it is for and why it is different. It is the centerpiece of a launch, used on a campaign page, a website and in ads.
The best ones make the product the star of a story. Light Pong and its one-dimensional game console launched with a throwback to the over-the-top board game commercials of the 90s, and Restful answered a founder's request for a rhyme with a bedtime story for a sleep lamp. Browse our launch films.
A video that shows the product actually working: someone uses it, and the viewer sees what happens. It answers the question every buyer has, "does it really do that?"
Demos can be a film of their own or the spine of a launch video. Captify, AGIGA and Joué Play built their launches around a working demo and real users getting a first look. Boppo put real kids in front of the camera with real parents giving their thoughts. Dabkick launched with hosted video featuring only live demos. Browse live demos.
B-roll is the supporting footage that plays over the main story: close-ups of the product, hands at work, places and moments. It gives the edit something to cut to, and it makes a video feel produced instead of recorded. And, maybe most importantly, b-roll can be almost infinitely repurposed into new social ads.
In other words, it's what feeds your other content. Details help sell products: a swooping motion control camera with a macro lens showed off every detail of the Keyboardio Model 100, and Breadwinner leaned on macro cross sections. Produce covers it, and you can add a photographer in the pricing calculator.
A launch video typically uses Plan, Produce and Post together. Plan starts at $3,000+, Produce at $6,000+ and Post at $3,000+. Talent, locations, drone and motion control are add-ons you choose.
The range is wide. The Lumos in-store ad ran on one production day with a crew of five, while the Daylight DC-1 launch took three days, a cast of five and four locations. Use the pricing calculator to see what your version adds up to.
Yes. Live demos are tricky, so we plan the shots around how the product behaves and build the story so a demo that misbehaves still works.
Smart glasses are notoriously hard to shoot, so for Captify we structured the founder story around a working demo, since nobody else in the category was showing one. For AGIGA we filmed real people getting their first demos and made the video accessible for low-vision viewers.
Yes: warm, real-life films that show a product in someone's day instead of listing its features. They work best when the product disappears into the story.
The Daylight Computer DC-1 launch carried an original cover of Blue Skies, recorded with a vocalist in the booth. The Lumos ad bet on a sunset timelapse (there is only one sunset a day) and it paid off, and Otherlab sent an electric scooter across the city for its proof of concept. Browse lifestyle videos.
Yes. A host walks viewers through the product and speaks to them directly. We can cast talent for you, or work with you or your founder as the face.
The Neluva launch put five talent in a second-floor bathroom, a beast to block and to light. Etcher Laser had a host whose overnight energy never dipped. Dabkick brought in a host to run its voice search demo live. Browse hosted videos.
Yes. In-store video has to earn attention in a second or two and still read with the sound off, so we plan for the screen it will play on.
We made the Lumos Apple Store in-store ad, which opens on a timelapse of the city going from day to night before a cyclist rides into frame wearing the illuminated helmet. tell us about your project with where your video will play and we will shape it to fit.
Yes. Produce can add a photographer, and Post includes 4K stills, GIFs and social cutdowns from the same shoot, so one day on set feeds your whole launch.
Stills are worth planning for, because websites, ads and retail all need them. The Keyboardio refresh was exactly that: fresh images and video loops for each product in a day and a half. See the add-ons in the pricing calculator.
All the time. Hardware is hard to show and harder to explain, and we have made launch films for a wide range of it.
Clients include Tilt Five (augmented reality gaming), Tidbyt, Keyboardio, Daylight Computer and Light Pong. See more in our work.
Crowdfunding
What to know before your campaign video.
Crowdfunding lets a creator raise money for production from their first customers instead of investors. You publish a campaign with a goal, a story and rewards, and backers pledge to get the product or perk when it is made. On Kickstarter it is all or nothing: if you miss the goal, nobody is charged.
The campaign video is the first look almost everyone has into your new offering, so it carries a lot of weight. Our crowdfunding terms were built for exactly this, with deferred payment and discounts tied to your raise.
A campaign video usually combines three phases: Plan (the story and script), Produce (the shoot) and Post (the edit). Plan starts at $3,000+, Produce at $6,000+ (one production day) and Post at $3,000+. Where you land depends on how much story work you need, how many days you shoot, who is on camera and how many weeks of editing the film takes.
Scope varies a lot. Our Brighter and Brezi Coffee launch videos each came together in a single production day, while Nine Arches was a shoestring epic that took four and a half. Build your own number in the pricing calculator, and ask about our crowdfunding terms if cash flow is tight.
Partly, yes. We have run campaigns ourselves and understand the cash flow, so we offer risk-aligned terms that defer up to 60% of the cost until after your campaign. You are not asked to fund a whole production before a single backer has pledged.
The terms apply to any Plan, Produce or Post engagement, so they cover a launch video from script to final cut. The details are on our crowdfunding terms, or tell us about your project and we will walk through how they would work for your campaign.
Yes. We discount Plan, Produce and Post engagements in exchange for a small share of what you raise: 10% off for 2.5% of your raise, 20% off for 5% of your raise, 30% off for 7.5% of your raise. The bigger the share, the bigger the discount. When you win, we win together.
It is a good fit if you would rather lower the cost up front and share the upside. It sits alongside the deferred payment option, and both live in the crowdfunding section of our services page. Not sure which suits your campaign? Tell us about your project.
Practically, yes. The video sits at the top of your campaign page and does most of the persuading before anyone reads a word. A campaign without one asks backers to take a lot on trust. It also leaves them asking, where's the video?
If you are not sure your idea is ready for a full production, start smaller. Our Plan phase includes a micro-shoot and a launch page so you can test interest first. See Plan, or tell us about your project and tell us where you are.
No. Some campaigns are fronted by the founder and some are told by a host or a cast. Backers like to meet the people behind a product, so being on camera helps, but it is a choice, not a rule. Generally speaking, if you're not in the video, you should have a prominent place to introduce yourself on your campaign page.
The founder of Lens Lizard told us in our first conversation, a year before the shoot, that he did not know if he wanted to be in the video at all. For hosted launches, see Neluva and Etcher Laser.
A clear hook in the first few seconds, the product working on camera, and real people behind it. Backers fund founders as much as gadgets, so personality matters, and the best campaign videos feel like a story rather than a pitch.
Hooks come in many shapes. For Brighter we compared one lamp directly to the 25 or so ordinary lamps it would take to match it. Negative staged three farcical vignettes with a great many red balloons to make an optimist's case about climate. Nine Arches put a verse of an epic poem under every scene. Browse more narrative launches.
Most campaign videos land around two to three minutes: long enough to tell the story and show the product, short enough that people finish it. Put the hook up front and save the detail for the campaign page.
Plan the shorter versions at the same time as the main film. For the Tidbyt Gen 2 launch we built a modular, video essay style with a series of vignettes, so the same shoot cut down into social assets aimed at their strongest audience segments. See what Post covers under services.
Plan them together. The story you settle on for the video is the story the page tells, so writing the script first gives you the headline, the structure and the images the page needs. We want everything speaking the same language.
That is why our Plan phase includes pre-launch website support alongside scripting. Shoot the video, then build the page around it. Read about Plan or tell us about your project.
That is what Plan is for. Along with brand positioning, messaging and scripting, it covers pre-launch website support and a half-day micro-shoot with your product, so you can validate demand before spending on a full production.
Many founders use it to find the story as much as the audience. You leave with a script, a first look at how the product behaves on camera and something real to put in front of early followers. Read about Plan or price a half-day shoot in the pricing calculator.
Among them: Brighter (a lamp that outshines a roomful of lamps), Brezi Coffee (a comedic narrative for cold brew fans), Negative (red balloons and climate optimism), Nine Arches (chickens, a rickshaw and an epic poem) and Wild Clean (a branding video with a grim reaper and a local comedian).
There are hosted launches too: Dabkick, whose voice search we demoed live in a studio with rolling walls, and Etcher Laser, shot with a circular dolly and a production designer. See them all in our work.
Yes. A campaign video is a film, so it works on any platform. We made the Breadwinner Backerkit launch with silky slow motion, macro close-ups of cross sections and a sourdough starter timelapse.
Second campaigns are a favorite. Tidbyt came back to Kickstarter with a host of improvements and wanted a quick history of how far they had come, the new features and a way to bring in new customers at the same time. After launch we refreshed Keyboardio's site assets with video loops for each product.
Early enough that scripting, the shoot and the edit all finish before your launch date. Plan, Produce and Post run in sequence and post is scoped in weeks, so the schedule works backwards from the day you go live.
Generally speaking, we usually recommend 6-8 weeks from kickoff to delivery, and an additional 2 weeks of ad run and sharing with any press before launch, but we've gone much much faster (and much much slower) that that.
Give us your target date when you tell us about your project and we will tell you what fits. If time is tight, priority scheduling is available as an add-on in the pricing calculator.
That is most of our clients. We learn your brand from you, find the story, write the script and handle casting, locations and crew. You show up and we direct.
Plenty of founders are nervous the first time, and that is fine. Talk to us early and we will take it step by step; see how we work in our services or read our story.
Yes. Our Post phase covers 4K stills, GIFs, social ads and social cutdowns alongside the main edit, and Produce can add a photographer, so one shoot day feeds your whole launch, and all the assets share characters, locations and design.
Plan these at the start and the shoot gets built around them. The Tidbyt Gen 2 vignettes were drafted to cut down into social assets from day one. Add stills, edits and more to your quote in the pricing calculator.
Fundraising
Introduce yourself to investors before the meeting.
A conversational video that introduces you and your company: the problem, why you, and why now. It goes to investors alongside your deck so they feel like they've met you before they get the meeting.
Ours are shot direct to camera from a teleprompter, in long confident takes, with all the coaching necessary to make it happen. We help you write it and help you perform it. See Mosaic, which opens with 40 years of a family's handwritten calendar, Acacia, Trailhead and TerraJoule, or browse every pitch video.
Yes. The deck carries the numbers and the detail; the video carries you. Investors read decks to check facts and watch videos to decide whether they want to work with the person behind them.
That is why our package puts both in one place: a private Pitch.Page with your scripted video, your deck and your calendar link. Read about it on the fundraising section.
Our pitch video package starts at $12,000. It includes scripting and Q&A support, a one-day interview shoot with one speaker, a teleprompter and lighting, editing, color and sound, and branded motion graphics.
It is a fixed package built for founders, with add-ons for more speakers, more videos and rush delivery, so you know the number before you start. Details are on our fundraising page.
Yes. It takes only 20% down ($2,400), with the balance due in 180 days or after your raise, whichever comes first. You get investor-grade video without draining your runway first.
Full terms are in your proposal. Read the fundraising terms or tell us about your project and we will talk through your timeline.
Scripting and Q&A support, a one-day interview production with one speaker, a teleprompter and interview lighting, editing, color and sound mix, branded motion graphics, a 4K portrait still and a private pitch website.
Scripting is where most of the value lives: we work through your story with you, ask the questions an investor would, and shape the answers into a script you can deliver naturally. See the full list on services.
A teleprompter scrolls your script on a screen right in front of the lens, so you look straight at the viewer while you talk. Done well, it sounds less like reading and more like conversation over coffee (or a beer).
The secret is a script written to be spoken, plus a little (or a lot of) practice. Our pitch videos are shot from a prompter in long, confident takes, and scripting, Q&A support, and coaching are all part of the package. See the results for Ritual and Panekana, or tell us about your project.
A private website at YourCompanyName.Pitch.Page that holds your scripted video, your deck and your calendar link in one place, so an investor can watch, read and book you in a single visit.
It is included in the pitch video package, and it means you send one link instead of a thread of attachments. Read how it fits in on the fundraising section of our services page.
Short enough to be watched before the meeting, usually a few minutes. Lead with the problem, make the case quickly and end on why you.
If you have more to say, add videos rather than stretching one. We can add more scripted videos and unscripted FAQs; the PatriCo FAQ series answers one question per video, direct to camera. See the pitch videos we have made.
Yes. Additional speakers, extra scripted videos and unscripted FAQ videos are all add-ons to the pitch video package.
Series work well for ideas that need room. On the same shoot day as his pitch video, we shot the follow-up FAQ series inviting viewers into the conversation. Tell us about your project and tell us how many voices you need.
Yes. A 72-hour rush is available as an add-on to the pitch video package, for when a raise or a meeting is close.
Rush is easiest when the story is ready, so send your deck and a rough outline with your request. tell us about your project with your date and we will tell you what is possible, or see the options on services.
Events
Videos that explain, teach and capture a moment.
Yes. Event video lives on the day and long after it, so we plan what you will use afterwards: highlights, interviews and clips for social.
We have covered Design Days (Teknion 2024), the SV Summit, NeoCon in Chicago and Philips at JPM 2026. Browse event videos or tell us about your project with your dates.
A step-and-repeat is the branded backdrop you see behind people at events. It gives every clip the same look, so a pile of quick interviews reads as one series.
For Philips at JPM 2026 we shot a series of short videos against one at the Philips Innovation Center, in partnership with AVFX, for LinkedIn during and after the conference. See the project and tell us about your project with your event dates.
Yes. Good instructions respect the viewer's time and speak in everyday language.
The Daybreak how-to pairs a host on teleprompter with a dolly circling real gamers actually playing the game. The Seco Tools videos are a ten-video onboarding campaign shot in a Modesto machine shop, with a host who bridges the shop floor and the new tech. Browse instructional videos.
Yes. We made a series of program videos for the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health, which has helped the New York community for decades and wanted to reach more of it.
The approach was to put faces to names: veterans explain the history, services and opportunities in a warm, welcoming way, over four production days. See the project and tell us about your project with what you want people to learn.
Yes. Series are where one planning phase and one crew pay off the most, because every extra video shares the setup.
See the PatriCo FAQ series (one question per video, direct to camera), the JPM series and the ten-video Seco Tools campaign. For a regular schedule, look at Partner.
Social
One shoot, many placements.
A cutdown is a shorter version of a longer video: a 15 or 30 second edit of a two-minute film, or a vertical clip pulled out for social. It is how one shoot feeds many placements.
Post includes three social cutdowns, and you can add more edits as you need them. The Tidbyt Gen 2 film was drafted as modular vignettes so it would cut down for different audience segments. Add edits in the pricing calculator.
Yes. OTT means streaming-TV advertising, the spots that play inside streaming apps. Tell us where the spot will run and we shoot and cut for it, with the versions and lengths that placement needs.
The Woof OTT campaign was three dogs in six comedy spots over three days, with 25 deliverables in all. The Lumos Apple Store ad was made for screens in a retail space. See more in brand campaigns.
Yes. Post includes three social cutdowns, 4K stills and GIFs, and you can add more social edits as you need them. Shoot once, then cut for every channel.
The trick is planning the cuts before the shoot, so the footage you need is captured. That is part of Plan. See what Post covers under services or tell us about your project.
Yes. UGC means user-generated content, the look of a real customer filming on their own. Not every video should look polished, and UGC-style is one of the looks in our work. It suits products that need to feel like a friend's recommendation.
It shows up across our projects, from Breadwinner to the Lumen brand refresh. Tell us what you have in mind and tell us about your project, or browse our work.
Yes. Post includes branded motion graphics, and bespoke motion graphics, VFX and renders are available as add-ons.
Graphics can carry a whole idea. For the Keyboardio Atreus launch, custom animations designed in-house let the keyboard type out its own feature call-outs on screen. Inkboard features anime inspired characters that are part of the product experience itself. See what is included under Post.
Yes. Custom scores and jingles are part of our work, and original music is one of the fastest ways to make a video feel like yours.
The Atmos sleep lamp video began with a client asking "can it rhyme?" and became a bedtime story. The Daylight DC-1 launch carried an original cover of Blue Skies, with a vocalist humming a part in the booth and the piano carrying it. The Tidbyt launch video featured a custom jingle and Tilt Five launched with a Never Ending story inspired custom composition. Tell us about your sound and tell us about your project.
Yes. Our Partner tier is an ongoing relationship that includes quarterly ad and asset refreshes, priority production scheduling and content strategy.
Because we already know your brand, new work starts faster and stays consistent. The Keyboardio asset refresh shows the idea: new images and product video loops, ready when a third product line was about to launch. Read about Partner.
Pricing
We publish our numbers. Here is how to read them.
It depends on the story and how much you need to shoot. Quotes will vary across vendors, but our pricing starts as follows: Plan starts at $3,000+, Produce at $6,000+ and Post at $3,000+, and most projects combine them.
Those are floors, not quotes. For a feel for the range, open one of our example budgets: Lightweight, Mid-range or All-out. Each loads into the pricing calculator ready to adjust.
Because a video is a small team doing a lot of work: writing, casting, crew, gear, locations, then weeks of editing, color and sound. The cost is mostly people's time, and the number of days and people is what moves the price.
That is why we show the line items. Every shoot day, role and edit week is an item in the pricing calculator, so you can see what each choice does and dial the project up or down. Start from an example budget like Lightweight.
A production day is one day of shooting with the crew and gear on set. It is the unit Produce is priced in, and a shoot starts at one full day. A half day is bookable for small jobs like a micro-shoot.
How many days you need depends on how many scenes, locations and people are in the film. Brighter took one day, Daylight three and Nine Arches four and a half. See Produce.
They are the three phases of making a video. Plan is the thinking: strategy, branding, voice and the script. Produce is the shoot: casting, locations, crew and gear. Post is everything after the camera stops: editing, color, sound, graphics and delivery.
Sometimes projects only requires one phase, sometimes all three. Plan starts at $3,000+, Produce at $6,000+ and Post at $3,000+. See each in services.
Yes. The pricing calculator lets you pick Plan, Produce and Post, add extras and see the total as you go. Or skip the blank page and start from an example budget: Lightweight, Mid-range or All-out.
The same engine prices the intake form and your proposal, so the number you see is the number we send. Happy with your build? tell us about your project and it comes through with your project details.
Our packages start at $3,000+ for Plan, $6,000+ for Produce (one production day) and $3,000+ for Post. Ongoing Partner work is custom.
Most projects use more than one phase, so add the floors for the ones you need. The Lightweight example budget shows what a bare-bones whole job adds up to. Not sure which phases fit? Tell us about your project.
Mostly how long you need us and who is on set: shoot days, crew, talent, locations, specialty gear such as drones, sliders or motion control, and how many weeks of editing the story needs.
Every one of those is a line in the pricing calculator, so you can see what each choice does to the total. Projects show the spread: Brighter took a day and a crew of five, while Nine Arches took four and a half days.
Produce includes the crew, shoot prep and gear for your day. Post includes editing, color, sound mix and three rounds of revisions. Talent, locations, drone and specialty rigs are add-ons you choose.
Plan includes the thinking that makes the shoot efficient: branding, voice, scripting and copywriting. See what is in each phase on services, and add what you need in the pricing calculator.
A mix, shown plainly. Plan and Post are scoped in weeks of work, Produce is priced by shoot day, and add-ons are priced by day, hour or item.
That way you pay for what the project uses: a half-day micro-shoot costs less than a three-day production, and a light edit less than a month of post. You see all of it in the pricing calculator.
Three rounds of revisions are included in Plan and Post. Most projects settle well inside that when the script and storyboard were approved up front.
Need more, or a bigger change late on? Additional plan weeks, post weeks, and social edits are available as add-ons. See Post or add edits in the pricing calculator.
For crowdfunding and fundraising, yes. Crowdfunding videos can defer up to 60% until after the campaign, and pitch videos take 20% down with the balance due after you raise or in 180 days.
For other projects, tell us about your project and ask about your situation. We would rather find a structure that works than lose a good project to cash flow.
Travel is its own expense line on a production, so it is never buried in other costs. Add it in the pricing calculator or tell us about your project with where you want to shoot.
We work from mainly from the San Francisco Bay Area, where we live, but frequently shoot in Los Angeles, Austin and New York, and take projects globally, so a shoot near one of those costs less to reach. Locations you rent are a separate line, too.
Yes. Our Partner tier is built for brands that need content regularly and includes volume pricing, priority scheduling and platform optimizations.
It also brings ad and asset refreshes, content strategy, and web and AI work, so the relationship deepens instead of restarting each time. Read about Partner.
Tell us about your project and build your total on the intake form. We will come back with a proposal you can review and share with your team.
Want to explore first? Try the pricing calculator without sending anything. If a crowdfunding or fundraising structure fits, mention it and we will build it into the proposal.
Process
From first conversation to final delivery.
Three phases, each broken out clearly into their own line items. Plan is the strategy, branding and script. Produce is storyboarding, casting, locations and the shoot. Post is editing, color, sound and delivery. Use all three or just the one you need.
Plan is where the project is won or lost, so we do not skip it. By the time cameras roll, everyone knows the story, the shots and the schedule. See the breakdown on services, or for what comes after a project, Partner.
Pre-production is everything before the camera rolls: the idea, the script, the storyboard, casting, locations and the schedule. The more that is decided here, the smoother and more efficient (and often cheaper) the shoot day is.
For us it spans Plan (strategy, voice, script) and the first half of Produce (storyboards, casting, location scouting). tell us about your project and we will map it for your project, or read about Plan.
A storyboard is a sequence of frames that sketches each shot of the video before it is filmed, so everyone can see how it will look and flow. It turns a script into a plan to execute on the production day(s).
It is how clients approve the look before the shoot, and how a crew knows exactly what to capture. Storyboarding is part of Produce. See Produce or tell us about your project.
A call sheet is the one-page schedule for a shoot day: who needs to be where, when, with the location, contact details and the plan for the day. It is how a crew and cast stay in sync.
We share call sheets through private links, along with scripts, cast and locations, so you can check them without a pile of attachments. tell us about your project to see how it flows.
The crew sets up, the cast arrives on the call sheet schedule, and we shoot scene by scene with the director and a producer keeping the day on time. You are welcome on set, or you can watch remotely from a Zoom feed.
A shoot day can be small or sprawling: Brighter ran a crew of five for one day, and Etcher Laser brought ten. Read What to Wear if you will be on camera.
A crew sized to the project, plus talent if you want it. Roles we can bring include a producer, line producer, photographer, drone operator, sound mixer, lighting technician and assistant, hair and make-up, and production assistants.
Small crews are common: Five F*cks ran with two. Bigger ones add up fast, so each role is a line in the pricing calculator. See Produce.
A shot list is the checklist of every shot you need to capture on the day, in order. It keeps a shoot on schedule and makes sure nothing is forgotten before the crew wraps.
It comes from the script and storyboard, which is why we do those first. Planning the shots up front is part of why a one-day shoot like Brighter is possible. See Produce.
Color grading is the finishing pass in Post where we balance and style the color of every shot so they match and feel the way the story should: warm and golden, cool and sci-fi, clean and bright, or dark and moody.
It is part of Post, alongside editing and the sound mix. Compare the look of Mercurius with Lumen to see how much grade shapes a film. See Post.
Tell us about your project on our intake form: what you are making, when you need it and a rough budget. You can price it as you go.
We take it from there, with a proposal and a conversation about the story. Prefer to talk first? Email hi@fna.wtf, or look at our work to find the project closest to yours.
It depends on the scope. Plan and Post are scoped in weeks, and a shoot starts at a day on set. A launch with a hard date is planned backwards from it. Generally speaking, we prefer 6-8 weeks, but we can move way, way faster if we need to (and believe us, we have!)
When time is short, priority scheduling is available as an add-on, and pitch videos have a 72-hour rush option. tell us about your project with your date and we will say what is realistic.
Yes. Scripting and copywriting are part of Plan, along with the narrative and voice that sit behind them. You review it before anything is shot.
Scripts range widely: a rhyming bedtime story for Restful, a poem in verses for Nine Arches and a conversational pitch for Mosaic. See Plan.
Yes. Produce covers storyboarding, casting, location scouting, crew and gear, and we can bring talent, a producer, a photographer, a drone operator and more.
Crews scale to the project: Atreus ran with a crew of four, Etcher Laser with ten and Lumen with nine across two days. See Produce and price the roles in the pricing calculator.
Yes. We share scripts, cast picks, locations and call sheets through private links so you and your team can review and comment without a pile of attachments.
Because everything is approved before the shoot, shoot day is about executing, not deciding. Tell us about your project to see how the review flow works for your project.
Solid, comfortable colors, a few options packed, and nothing too busy or shiny. We wrote a short guide for exactly this.
Read What to Wear before shoot day. It covers what reads well on camera, which colors to bring, and a checklist so you are not guessing the night before.
No. Some videos are founder-led and some are told by talent we cast. We will help you decide in Plan.
Compare founder stories, where the founder tells it, with narrative films, where actors do. Inku even used a created character to tell a founder's story. Tilt Five cast a face familiar with the founder to read a rallying cry.
Yes. Post works with your footage or ours: editing, color, sound mix, motion graphics and cutdowns.
A good edit can rescue a lot of footage, and a clear brief matters even more. See Post or price an edit in the pricing calculator.
Your finished film, plus the extras you chose: social cutdowns, 4K stills, GIFs, ads and motion graphics. Everything is cut from the same shoot so it all matches.
Deliverables vary by project: Woof delivered 25 pieces from three shoot days. We'll align to the deliverable list in Plan so nothing is a surprise. See examples in our work.
About
Who we are and how we work.
A team that makes videos for clients, from the idea to the finished film. That usually means strategy and scripting, a crew and gear for the shoot, and editing, color and sound afterwards.
We do all of it under one roof: Plan, Produce and Post. See how it breaks down on services, or browse what we have made in our work.
A boutique video production agency and creative marketing partner. We help build brands, launch products and scale startups with strategy, design and execution.
The pair behind it, Ol' Richie and Ready, met nearly a decade ago when a D.P. dropped out a week before a shoot, and still have a blast making things together. Meet the team and read the story on the about page.
A freelancer is one person with one skill set. An agency is a team that covers the whole job: strategy, writing, directing, shooting, editing and often web and design, with one point of contact.
We are a small team with a vast network, so you get the focus of a boutique and specialists brought in when a project needs them. See how it fits together on services or tell us about your project.
We work from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and New York, and take projects globally. Travel is quoted on the production.
Shoots have ranged from a Modesto machine shop for Seco Tools to a Mendocino County homestead for Tilt Five and New York's Upper West Side for Boppo. tell us about your project with your location.
Mostly startups and ambitious small brands, plus the occasional big stage: Philips at JPM 2026 and an Apple Store in-store ad.
The approach is the same at any size: find the story, then make it. See who we have worked with in our work or tell us about your project.
Hardware and consumer tech, games, health, finance, food and drink, jewelry, design and more. A story is a story.
Recent work spans smart glasses for the hearing loss community, a climate-themed board game, a mental health center and a bread-baking tool. Browse by type in our work.
Yes. Our work page has every project, and you can filter by type: Narrative, Founder Story, Brand Campaign, Live Demo, Pitch Video and more.
Each project page has the story behind it, the video and who made it. Found one that feels like yours? Tell us about your project and mention it.
Yes. Partner is an ongoing creative relationship with brand and marketing strategy, ad and asset refreshes, design, web and AI automations.
It suits brands that have found their voice and need to keep their content fresh: social calendars, landing pages and A/B tests, email campaigns, and priority scheduling for new shoots. Read about Partner.
Where it helps, tastefully and transparently. Post offers AI credits as an add-on, and Partner includes AI workflows, automations and custom tools. The shoots themselves are real crews, real products and real people.
For brands that want AI inside their business, Partner covers custom AI tools, agents and chatbots as well as workflows. See Partner or tell us about your project.
Small team, vast network: we bring in specialists when your project needs them, and we keep things transparent, right down to publishing our prices.
Clients should be friends, and our network is full of our greatest allies. That is how a project like Nine Arches, a shoestring epic shot by a skeleton crew, gets made with care. Read our story.
